Brand Authorization Letters: What HMMT CORP Provides to Authorized Resellers
What a brand authorization letter is, when marketplace resellers need one, what HMMT CORP's letter includes, and how approved partners request it.
If you resell on Amazon, Walmart, or eBay, you have probably been asked for a brand authorization letter. This post explains what the letter is, when you need one, what ours contains, and how to get it from HMMT CORP.
What a brand authorization letter is
A brand authorization letter is a short, signed document from the brand owner. It states that a specific business is permitted to sell the brand's products, names the channels that permission covers, and gives a period of validity. It is issued on the brand owner's letterhead with a contact who can confirm it.
It is not a distribution agreement and it does not transfer any rights in the brand. It simply tells a marketplace or a retailer that the reseller is not a stranger to the brand.
When resellers need one
Three situations come up most often:
- Marketplace brand approval. Amazon and Walmart may ask a reseller to prove they are allowed to list a brand, especially in categories where counterfeit risk is high or where the brand is enrolled in a brand registry.
- Ungating and disputes. When a listing is challenged or a category is restricted, an authorization letter plus invoices from the brand owner usually settles the question quickly.
- Retail buyers and distributors. Some buyers want to see that the party selling them a brand has the owner's consent, particularly when the seller is not the owner.
What the HMMT CORP letter includes
Our letter is deliberately plain so that a marketplace reviewer can read it in one pass:
- The legal name, address, and registry ID of HMMT CORP as brand owner.
- The brand covered: Vxcellent (Amazon brand name VXCELLENT LIVE LIFE).
- The authorized reseller's legal name and address.
- The channels the authorization covers, listed by name.
- The validity period and the date of issue.
- A contact email and phone number for verification.
- A signature from the company.
[VERIFY: confirm the letter template and the signing officer.]
What we require before issuing one
We issue letters only to partners who have completed the wholesale qualification:
- A registered business with resale documentation.
- Named sales channels, with marketplace seller names where relevant.
- Agreement to use our listing content and to follow the pricing policy shared during qualification. [VERIFY: MAP terms]
- A first order, or a purchase history, so that the invoices and the letter describe the same relationship.
We do not issue letters to resellers who bought inventory from a third party and have no relationship with us. If that is your situation, contact us; the fix is usually to become a direct partner.
Invoices versus letters
Marketplaces treat the two documents differently:
- Invoices show that you bought genuine goods, from whom, and in what quantity. Ours are itemized, issued in the legal name HMMT CORP, and show the business address and product identifiers.
- The letter shows that the brand consents to your resale on specific channels.
Reviewers often ask for both. Keep them together and keep them current.
How to request a letter
- Apply through the wholesale form and mention marketplace resale in the channels section.
- Complete qualification and place a first order.
- Email the request with your seller names and the platforms you need covered. We reply with the signed letter as a PDF.
Renewals follow the same route. If a marketplace needs to verify a letter, they can contact us using the details in the footer of this site.
